I believe in Charlottesville City Schools and am committed to continued support of our public schools. We are doing great things and that’s why I am excited to run for School Board in November 2025.

Charlottesville City Schools serves ~4,500 students in pre-K through Grade 12. We are known for offering top-tier academics, exceptional fine arts, STEM and engineering programs; and a strong sense of community.

By no means are we perfect and we are committed to addressing the disparities along the lines of race that is evident in our data.

Our 2023-2028 Strategic Plan sets the course for great things and we are on course to continue making positive impacts for our students and community.

Our priorities are;

1: Increase Academic Achievement

2: Provide a Culture of Safety, Wellness, and Belonging

3: Support our Staff

4: Ensure Effective and Efficient Operations

Empowering Your Educational Journey

Empowering Your Educational Journey

Literacy and funding for ongoing Charlottesville City Schools infrastructure needs, including our own state of the art Pre-K Center and more…remain some of my top priorities.

And most importantly our STUDENTS

These are my priorities as I continue my work on this board and I hope you will continue to support me by voting for me in November.

In 2010 I found myself in a situation where I had to advocate for what my child needed to succeed in school - that experience and what I learned along the way, ultimately, is why I am on the school board.

The experience, wins and accomplishments for students, staff and our community I have contributed to over the last 8 years is exactly why I need to continue my work on this board.

I have an established working relationship with City Council, State and Federal level legislators - all who value and fight for Public Education.

Beyond our board work and local committees - I serve on several (VSBA) Virginia School Board Association committees.

  • I have been the CCS Delegate representative since 2022 addressing state legislative priorities

  • I am on the taskforce for school infrastructure needs

  • I was appointed as our 2026 Federal Relations Committee member, advocating on federal issues that impact school divisions in Virginia

  • Throughout the spring and summer,  I was part of the 2025 Virginia Inaugural Cohort for the Hunt State Policy Fellows - working together with policy makers from all over our state (Early Learning, K-12 Education and Higher Ed/Workforce Learning were the focus topics for our three sessions).

  • On Sept. 8th I began my work with Cohort #2 through the Hunt Institute as an - EARLY LEARNING NATIONAL POLICY FELLOW. As part of this work over the next several months, I will be attending the Early Childhood Leadership Summit - an annual event that brings together state teams from across the country to network and set goals for improving early care and learning.
